Hey guys, unfortunately at the moment I cannot post. There are a lot of things happening in my life right now and I think it would be better that I stop posting for a little while instead of giving you sub par posts of lower quality. I like to think that I put 110% of effort into my blog, the plan is to hopefully be back to blogging soon.

Thank you guys for your cooperation

PicMonkey: Halloween Edition

Happy pre-Halloween my fellow readers!

Hi everyone, with Halloween coming up I thought it was a time to get festive with my posts. I edited these awesome images on this online photo editing programme/software that is FREE yes I said free and it is called 'picmonkey' I used to use it for all my media studies coursework and for my blog images as it is easy and great to use.

You don't need to install or download anything to your PC/MAC, you can use this programme online with any browser. I believe you can download this on many portable devices and follow them on almost all popular social media.

Thinking About What To Do After College?

5.10.15

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure most of you out there are considering either going to university or getting a job but here are other options you could take:
  • Gap Year - Plan a project/Volunteer (Gaining lots of skills and plenty of amazing experiences)
  • Employement
  • Study in another way
  • Study in another country
This is one of the biggest decisions that could alternate your life in various ways, if you want a career you can build or that you might want to consider going through further education and necessarily this does not mean you have to go to uni' this could mean you join different courses provided by other organisations.

For me I am a person who loves earning something, I started looking for a part time job when I was 15 years old despite against my parents wishes, but I knew that my parents did not save for me to attend university as well as for anything else. But, I knew it was time for more independency and to start looking after myself and be apart of the real world.

My brother and sister have taught me so much about life and what it is really like being an adult, my brother is 15 years older and my sister 13 years older so they know what they are doing!! But to get back to the original point it took me 3 years to finally land my job at H&M and I couldn't have asked for anything better to be honest.
But here is the glitch I could have tried harder to find a job, a job is important if you don't want to rely on other people for money - I hated asking my parents for money and when I was younger I was frivolous with money and didn't care, but you need to look at the bigger picture when you grow up. So what you need to do if your thinking of getting a job then you need to start by having a curriculum vitae, print a couple out and not just give it to some random person who works where you are applying - call the manager, ask to speak to them and say why you want to work there. And call them after a couple of days if they haven't contacted you this shows determination to get a job, but don't go overboard or it would seem your're a bit too desperate.

For me personally, I would like to have studied abroad if money was not an issue furthermore going to America to study was a dream of mine as my family is there so I could have stayed with them. Taking part in The Great Education Debate held at my secondary school, Finland has an impressive education system and it is free to study there as well. I also wanted to take a gap year to work on peace missions and health and safety issues in other countries. However, I am the type of person if I were to leave education for a while then come back to it, I would have found it difficult to adapt to the process of learning and studying again. This is something you need to consider when considering a gap year.

My Inspiration: Women

1.10.15

Hey guys,
So I thought I would write about the women I look up to in my life, now for this post its all actresses and models because I believe they have done great things in their lives and it's amazing how some of them deal so well with the media and the chaos of being in the modelling and film industry.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon:
Great women - I just love them because they are so down to earth and have made their career solely based on their profession and they are good at it too but also Reese used to support Avon Cosmetics which didn't test on animals and I love that company because of it and its great products!

Miranda Kerr:
She is just amazing - great mother, business woman and supermodel whoohoo!
I like how she is very well kept and healthy, she focuses on keeping the body and mind in good condition and you can see the results for sure but also I want to aim to be as healthy and fit as her but obviously not going overboard I can handle myself

Angelina Jolie:
She is an inspiration to all with her acting skills as well as her humanitarian work - she has influenced me so much about working for the UN and helping people who cannot help themselves. She is also beautiful and takes crap from nobody, but also the fact that she re-invented herself into a well kept and reserved lady

Cara Delevingne:
Jheeze isn't she a beauty - I like her because she doesn't care about what people think of her like all the time or over think much and that she doesn't like labels. That's it really I don't know much of what else she does apart from trying to be a singer and actress as well.

HET: LFA My Personal Reflective Statement

24.9.15

Hey guys, I thought this would be a good thing to post about since everyone can learn from it. I had the opportunity to go to Poland in 2013 and visit the famous German Nazi concentration and extermination camp called Auschwitz, it was the largest camp to be built and 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives there. I went for free as apart of the organisation Holocaust Educational Trust - Lessons from Auschwitz (HET/LFA), two people from my 6th form including myself got to go to Poland with many students from other schools. But before we were allowed to embark on this journey we had to attend a couple of workshops to develop our understanding of what happened back then and how it affect us to this day. Then we headed off to Gatwick Airport at early hours of the morning as this was only a day trip, you can see my whole journey on my YouTube page (link in the side bar), after we came back to England we had to write a personal statement (below) and create something to spread the message of the holocaust during WW2, which I did in the form of a YouTube video.

MY PERSONAL REFLECTIVE STATEMENT

Lessons From Auschwitz was with out a doubt one of the best things that has ever happened to me, it has been a life changing experience. I know that it is a bit of a cliché but it is the truth I wouldn’t be here without the encouragement of my teacher or Abdul to help me through the visit to Auschwitz. As well as the assisting seminars that helped me to accumulate the lessons that have taught me from visiting Auschwitz and will continue to teach me throughout my life.

Not a single day has passed without myself thinking about the day I visited Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau on the 21st of March 2013, it seems like a long time gone but even the memory of standing at the sign ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ still haunts me to this day but still having the slight feeling of guilt coinciding as knowing that I got to leave that place but many others were not able to.

The now famous gate to the Auschwitz camp has become a place where crowds gather to photograph or video the sign, a way of making sure people at back at home know that you were really there. But does that make an impact on them? No, I don’t think it does, without actually being able to make others understand that it isn’t about the sign or proving that you were there but to make people influenced by the lessons that you have learnt is the most important.

We created a video documenting photos of our journey and facts to accompany them; we uploaded the video on the no.1 Internet video site YouTube to target a broader audience first instead of tailoring it to each individual group as some younger audiences might be age sensitive although this is very important to take into consideration I did not want to rush projects like this one. This being I wanted them to have time to take in and understand what was being told therefore our plans will be to continue these presentations and videos across the next and final year of our college lives.

As my duty as an ambassador I want to educate that ‘seeing is not like hearing’ and it is true because you always hear the stories of what happened in Auschwitz and other various camps but to go there and see it for yourself is another level of understanding that only a handful get to experience and I was luckily to be one of the only few. These places and its survivors won’t be here forever it is our job to keep the memory and its teachings going.

I wish to do more and I will do more as I grow and develop, I want to teach furthermore present the lessons that not only I have learnt but my fellow friends have learnt while going to Auschwitz.

There is so much more I could be able to write but no amount of words would be able to explain the disgust in addition to the overall feelings felt, something we cannot convey…

Helpful Information from UCAS

18.9.15

Hey guys,

I have recently started to post about personal statements as most of you are starting to write/or submit your personal statements to universities yaay! But what about those who have hardly a clue of what they want to do in uni most importantly or what to mention? Here is a post of compiled information from UCAS that I think would be really helpful in making your university choices, this definitely helped when I was going through the process.

Why are you applying:
  • For example why you want to study at higher education level.
  • Why that subject interests you.
  • What your ambitions are when you finish your course.

  • What makes you suitable:
  • Skills, knowledge, achievements and experience you have that will help you do well.
  • These could be from education, employment or work experience, or from hobbies, interests and   social activities.
  • Activities

  • Which of your skills and experiences are most relevant?
  • Check course listings to see what level of understanding you need to have and what qualifications or skills they're looking for.
  • This way you can link your experiences to the skills and qualities they mention, and you can put them into a structure that's most relevant to the course providers.

  • I started by choosing what subjects interest me the most, if you don't have an idea of what you want to do at university I would suggest you do something that interests you and also something that you love doing. Thinking about this logically it make sense to do something that makes you happy and interested then doing a 3+ year degree not enjoying what your learning which also as a consequence is a waste of money in addition to further opportunities to help your future.

    Activities before higher education:
Extra-curricular activities are great for demonstrating skills on your UCAS application. Maybe something sporting, creative or musical – possibly with key skills like teamwork. Maybe paid work or volunteering, or an activity resulting in a grade, certificate or accreditation. There's so much available – something for all ages and backgrounds:
  • Clubs, societies and employment in your local area.
  • Higher education taster courses – summer schools like Plymouth University.
  • Science, technology, engineering and maths activities.
  • Skills development – ASDAN, Duke of Edinburgh, National Citizen Service or young enterprise.
  • Volunteering – vInspired Awards or WorldWide Volunteering Certificate.
  • Accreditation in personal effectiveness for activities that prepare you for higher education – ASDAN.

    Nivea SOS Hand Cream

    11.8.15

    Hey guys,
So I have finished this particular product Nivea Rescue and Care small bottle of hand cream, and the verdict is it is great, even using a small amount, around a pea size is enough to leave my hand nice and soft as well as rejuvenated. I dub this on the 'one of the best products to use' list yaay!! I bought the small bottle from Tesco but I am sorry I suck at remembering prices sometimes - so you can check it online for yourself or find it somewhere cheaper. Oh this product is also great to put in your handbag as it is small although you can buy it in a larger size bottle.
